Jeff Raybould joined the La Mesa Police Department in 2001. Jeff started his career as a Patrol Officer and after a couple of years was assigned to the Traffic Division as a Collision Investigator. Following that, Jeff became a Detective where his assignments included being a general investigation Detective as well as being assigned to the Regional Auto Theft Task Force. In 2015, Jeff was promoted to Sergeant where his assignments have been Patrol and Special Investigations Unit. Jeff is currently assigned to the Patrol division.
Throughout Jeff’s career, he has always been involved in the LMPOA. He has served as a board member, treasurer, and President. He has been active in the negotiations with the City as well as the Political Action Committee (PAC). In 2010, Jeff started the annual LMPOA annual golf tournament which has gone on to raise a lot of money for the local communities and youth.
Jeff believes that in his role as President, his primary responsibility is to maintain a good working environment for the members while leading this association into the future. In addition, Jeff believes being a liaison to the public is an important role as policing is facing some changes.
Jose Gaytan joined the La Mesa Police Department in 2011 after two years with El Centro PD. While at LMPD, Jose has worked Patrol, Street Team, Field Training Officer, Joint Agency Task Force with MTS, and Investigations (Child Abuse Detective). Jose was promoted to Police Sergeant in 2019 and currently serves as a Patrol Supervisor.
Jose has been involved with the POA since 2014, serving as board of director, secretary, vice-president, and a former POA President from 2017-2018. Jose is a graduate of the Southwestern College Police Academy (Class 49) and has a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice.
